Hal Merchant (plaintiff) and Groendyke Transport, Inc. (defendant) entered into a written agreement whereby plaintiff leased certain motor vehicle equipment to defendant for a term of five years beginning July 1, 1957. The parties made a simultaneous oral agreement for a like term whereby plaintiff would serve as defendant's representative and terminal manager at Duncan, Oklahoma.
