Decedent, who had been employed by the Ritz Carlton Hotel as a doorman for 45 years, collapsed and died January 14, 1955 as an incident to carrying heavy bags into the lobby of the hotel. Death was due to coronary arteriosclerosis. The issue on appeal is whether the Special Disability Fund under subdivision 8 of section 15 of the Workmen's Compensation Law should be chargeable with the award; and this in turn depends upon whether there is substantial evidence to sustain the...
