It is conceded that the deed from the plaintiffs to the defendant is an absolute deed on its face. Furthermore, it is well settled in North Carolina that in order to correct a deed, absolute on its face, into a mortgage or security for a debt, it must be alleged and proven that the clause of redemption was omitted...
