By indictment defendants George Noble and Sarah Haymond, together with Ernest J. Exton, Edna Cornell, Jean Edwards, Merle Smith and Rhea Green, were accused of conspiracy to violate section 337a of the Penal Code in that they engaged in bookmaking and its concomitant offenses.
