This is an appeal from a conviction of grand larceny. The information charged the defendant (appellant) with the commission of the crime as follows:

"That the said Willard R. Link on or about the 20th day of April, 1959, in the County of Stevens, State of Washington, then and there being, did then and there obtain from another, to-wit: Leo C. Beck, property of the value of more than $75.00, to-wit: a bank check in the amount of $208.00, by color...
