This is a petition for a writ of mandamus brought in the superior court to direct the employees' retirement board of the city of Providence and the individual members thereof, hereinafter called the retirement board, to retain the petitioner's name on the city payroll and to require the city treasurer to continue paying to the petitioner his full salary as heretofore.
