The question in this case is whether the building in which Lillie's Academy of Music is located is a school building within the meaning of CL 1948, § 436.17a (Stat Ann 1957 Rev § 18. 988[1]), which requires that any application for a license to sell liquor at retail or to transfer the location of any existing license be denied in the event the contemplated location for such liquor sales is within 500 feet of a "school building".
