The defendants Carella, Krausnick and Buxton, who are the appellants herein, by indictment were charged with felonies involving bookmaking; Count One in the indictment charged all of the defendants with a conspiracy to violate section 337a of the Penal Code, i.e., engaging in bookmaking, keeping a room for gambling paraphernalia and the making of bets, receiving and holding money in connection with wagers...
