Without a hearing, the Federal Communications Commission granted National Broadcasting Company's (NBC) application for renewal of its broadcasting license for station WRCV-TV in Philadelphia. Philco Corporation, which manufactures various kinds of equipment in competition with NBC's parent, Radio Corporation of America (RCA), protested the grant.
