VOELKER, J.

Plaintiffs and appellants brought their respective suits to recover damages and certain medical and other expenses growing out of injuries to their minor daughter when she was struck by an automobile owned and driven by the defendant, Earl Craile, who died before the trial. The mother of the child sued as next friend; the father sued on his own behalf. The cases were consolidated for trial below and on this appeal.
