Plaintiff, Paul Kohl, brought this action to recover damages for personal injuries sustained when the automobile in which he was a passenger was struck at a grade crossing by defendant's train. The driver and owner of the automobile, Wolfgang Randecker, joined in the action seeking damages for the destruction of the car and was subsequently joined as an additional defendant by defendant railroad.
