Claimant had been employed by the same employer for approximately 12 years. He noticed some difficulty with his hands early in 1948, but continued working until on or about August 6, 1951, when he was discharged for other reasons. On August 7, 1951 claimant visited his doctor who advised an operation, which was performed on October 26, 1951. Claimant's duties involved heavy use of his hands.
