FOURT, J.

An indictment was returned on December 16, 1957, by the Grand Jury of Los Angeles County. The indictment consisted of some 19 counts. Appellants (who are husband and wife) and one Clyde D. Moslander, Jr., were charged in Count I with conspiring together and with several other persons to cheat and defraud by criminal means, to obtain money and property by false pretenses and false promises
