Anton Fatovic brought this action to recover damages for injuries he suffered on April 7, 1953 when struck in the hip by a cargo boom while working as a stevedore on the S.S. Veendam, a ship belonging to Holland America Line, and which was then docked at Hoboken, New Jersey.
