1. While many issues are raised by the petition, consisting of eighty-seven pages, and by the demurrers, consisting of nineteen pages, the issues of whether the petitioner was ever elected to the office which he now holds, by the Board of Aldermen, and whether he is now serving a four-year term expiring as he contends, December 31, 1960, is controlling.
