This action was brought in the Magistrate Court of the City of St. Louis for penalties alleged to be due the plaintiff under Section 290.110 RSMo 1949, V.A.M.S., relating to the payment of discharged employees. There was a judgment for the defendant in the Magistrate Court, from which the plaintiff appealed. Upon trial to a jury in the Circuit Court there was a verdict and judgment for the plaintiff in the sum of $1,400, and the defendant prosecutes...
