The parties appear here in the same order as in the trial court where Alex Allander, Jr. was plaintiff and Carpenters District Council was defendant. We will refer to them as "Allander" and "District Council".

In 1951 Allander was a member of Local Union No. 2363 of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, and was elected the union's secretary and business agent. As compensation the union was to pay Allander a journeyman foreman's rate...
