Both defendants were convicted of three counts of kidnapping (Pen. Code, § 209) and of two counts of robbery (Pen. Code, § 211). They appealed from the judgment of conviction and from the order denying their motion for a new trial. On February 10, 1960, this court granted defendant Straw's request to dismiss his appeal. We therefore consider only the appeal of Adams, the remaining appellant.
