This is a Rule 37 case. The Railroad Commission of Texas refused appellee, C. Murel Williams, a permit to drill a well for oil and gas on a tract of land containing 1.65 acres in the Joaquin field in Shelby County. The well applied for was a first well and was sought as an exception to spacing Rule 37 to prevent the confiscation of property.
