Two appeals are consolidated in this cause. The first, hereinafter referred to as cause one, involved the defendant in two charges of violating the provisions of section 288, Penal Code, in that he did, on June 26, 1949, commit a lewd and lascivious act upon the bodies of two sisters (twins) aged 7 years. He was, in that case, charged with three prior convictions, as follows: (1) that in the State of Maine he was convicted of the crime of indecent liberties...
