This is an appeal by defendant, the City of Kansas City, from a $2,500 judgment in favor of plaintiff, Arthur Bronson, Jr., II, a minor in a suit brought by his mother and next friend, Helen O. Bronson. Plaintiff, 4½ years old, was burned by a flare pot placed by the City to warn of an excavation in the public sidewalk in front of plaintiff's home.
