On October 9, 1948, Pitman Manufacturing Company of Georgia, a Georgia corporation, gave Citizens & Southern National Bank a negotiable promissory note under seal for $10,000, which matured thirty days after its date. Alfred T. Pitman, W. D. Webb, and Herbert E. Williams each indorsed the note by simply writing his name without more on the back of it.
