CANDLER, Justice.

Nathaniel Johnson, a negro, was indicted in Richmond County for the offense of raping a named white woman. He was convicted without any recommendation, and sentenced to be electrocuted. He moved for a new trial on the usual general grounds, later amended his motion by adding four special grounds, and excepted to a judgment denying his amended motion. Held:
