The claimant worked as a hog cutter for the appellant employer who is in the wholesale meat business. While splitting hogs on March 19, 1956 he was taken with pain in his shoulder and was unable to straighten up. He did no more work that day and he came to work for the next few days but was unable to work. The claimant was seen by several doctors beginning on March 23, 1956 and eventually admitted to the hospital on April 4, 1956. A ruptured intervertebral disc was suspected...
