This is a mandamus suit to compel the appellants, City of San Antonio and the Chief of Police of said City, to reinstate appellees, Ernest P. Kneupper and Atilano S. Castillo, and to restore each to the position, rank, status and class of service in the San Antonio Police Department from which he was suspended, and for the recovery of their back salaries from May 29, 1957.
