This is an action in false imprisonment. The declaration and specifications thereunder aver that the plaintiff was sane but that his wife addressed to the municipal officers a complaint that he was insane and should therefore be confined in a State Hospital; that the municipal officers upon the written certificate of the defendants who are physicians committed the plaintiff to an insane hospital as an emergency...
