BROADFOOT, J.

It is the first contention of the defendants who appealed that Carlson was not negligent in stopping his school bus on the west half of the paved portion of the highway. They state that sec. 85.16 (12), Stats. 1955, permitted Carlson to stop where he did. On the other hand, the plaintiff contends that said section conflicts with the parking statute, sec. 85.19 (1), and that both sections must be complied with. The two sections read as follows:
