1. The special grounds 1 through 5 of the amended motion for new trial complain of the admission of a police officer, a witness for the State, as to his conversation with the defendant and with the codefendant in the presence of the defendant Poole on the ground that such testimony was irrelevant, immaterial, highly prejudicial, of no probative value and had nothing to do with the crime. The testimony was as follows:
