Appellant was accused in the first count of an information with driving a motor vehicle without the consent of the owner (Veh. Code, § 503) and in the second count he was charged with child stealing (Pen. Code, § 278). On April 25, 1958, he pleaded not guilty and trial was set for May 14, 1958.
