The State of Louisiana, through the Department of Highways, filed suit on July 5, 1956, for the expropriation of two parcels of land together comprising 0.574 of an acre owned by the defendant, Ray Guidry, for highway purposes. Suit was filed in accordance with the authority conferred by Section 19.1 of Article 6 of the Constitution of Louisiana, LSA and the provisions of Part XVIII of Title 48 of the LSA-Revised...
