On April 18, 1953, at about 5:45 p.m., a vehicle of the Baltimore City Fire Department (Fire Department) collided with a vehicle of the Fire Insurance Salvage Corps (Salvage Corps) at the intersection of Caroline and Baltimore Streets, Baltimore, Maryland, while both were responding to the same fire alarm.
