Defendant was convicted of violating section 11500 of the Health and Safety Code, possession of heroin. He appeals from the judgment of conviction and from the order denying his motion for a new trial.

Defendant does not challenge the sufficiency of the evidence to sustain the judgment of conviction. His position is that there was no reasonable or probable cause for his arrest and the search of his person and house apart from certain information...
