This action was instituted by two promoters of an amateur ice hockey team in Spokane (referred to herein as the petitioners), who petitioned the superior court for a writ of mandamus, directed to the commissioners of the city of Spokane, commanding them to rent to the petitioners the Spokane Coliseum, a public auditorium and sports arena belonging to the city, for a specified number of dates in the fall and winter...
