This is, in effect, an action for slander by the plaintiff (respondent) against each of the two defendants (appellants). Two separate actions were filed and by stipulation of the parties were consolidated for trial. The actions were tried to a jury and it returned a verdict in each case for the plaintiff awarding $2,500 general damages and $2,500 punitive damages against each of the two defendants.
