The defendant in this motor tort case excepted to the denial of his motion for a directed verdict. On the morning of November 2, 1954, the plaintiff, who was a pedestrian on the way to work, arrived at the corner of Belmont Avenue and Oakland Street, Springfield, where he waited two to three minutes for a police officer to give him a signal to cross.
