The principal issue before us on this appeal is whether the exemption in favor of a veteran which is provided by sec. 454a, Title 38, USCA, and sec. 272.18 (24), Wis. Stats., applies to a claim for care and support furnished to an incompetent veteran by the state of Wisconsin while such veteran was confined to a state mental institution and under guardianship.
