Respondent, as a subcontractor, installed materials in a building owned by appellants F.W. McCoy and Helen M. McCoy, located in Alameda County. Not having been paid for his labor, respondent recorded within the time prescribed by law his claim of lien and filed suit to foreclose the same. On December 14, 1956, in connection with this action, respondent mailed a legally sufficient notice of pendency of action affecting real property to the county recorder...
