This action was commenced on October 18, 1954. The Government's complaint sought to acquire approximately 70.5 acres of land in the Town of Hempstead, County of Nassau. The land was unimproved and formed a part of the old Meadowbrook Club, devoted for many years to golf, polo and recreational purposes.
