SNEAD, Justice.

This action resulted from an accident which occurred at approximately 7:30 P.M., October 6, 1955, at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and 82nd Street in Princess Anne County, between an automobile operated by Robert Edmond Washburn and Mary Coleman Dana, a pedestrian. Mrs. Dana sought damages for injuries sustained, and the jury rendered a verdict for the sum of $10,000. The court overruled Washburn's motion to set aside the verdict
