This action was commenced to recover damages for personal injuries sustained by plaintiff wife when she slipped on the stairway in the defendant's cannery. The complaint alleged that the defendant's negligence was the proximate cause of her slipping. Defendant denied the allegations of negligence and affirmatively alleged contributory negligence and assumption of risk.
