These two admiralty proceedings involve a collision which occurred at 11 o'clock P.M. on August 11, 1951 in the Delaware River between the diesel tanker F. L. Hayes and the barge Gatco 72 which was then being pushed by the tug Gatco New Jersey. The tanker was owned by Tank Barge Hygrade, Inc., and the barge and tug by Gulf Atlantic Transportation Company.
