Respondent brought separate actions against the two appellant companies for damages for the breach of a separate contract with each of them. The two cases were consolidated for trial and jury verdicts were returned in favor of the defendants. The court granted plaintiff's motion for new trial by an order which recited: "The grounds upon which said new trial is granted include, but are not limited to, the ground of the insufficiency of the evidence to sustain...
