Charles J. Thurmond seeks a writ of mandate to compel the preparation of clerk's and reporter's transcripts on appeal from an order denying a motion for a new trial in a criminal action.

On January 15, 1952, Thurmond was found guilty of a violation of section 288a of the Penal Code. At his request sexual psychopathy proceedings were instituted under section 5500 et seq. of the Welfare and Institutions Code, and the criminal proceedings were adjourned...
