August 2, 1957, Harold Berry filed his petition in this Court for a writ of habeas corpus, alleging in substance that he is presently serving a sentence at the Kentucky State Reformatory at LaGrange, Kentucky, under a judgment of the Breckinridge Circuit Court rendered on the 11th day of February, 1954, following a verdict of a jury fixing his punishment at life imprisonment; he was indicted for the offense of rape of a female over 12 years...
