This is an action by the plaintiff Ruth Rudd to recover damages for personal injuries suffered by her as a result of a fall on an icy public sidewalk in front of defendants' property.1 The action was consolidated for trial and on this appeal with that of her husband, Oscar Rudd, who seeks to recover the medical expenses he incurred as a result of his wife's injuries.
