In the spring of 1953 the Mayor of the Village of Lake George and the supervisor of the Town of Caldwell, which embraces the village, met on the street and held conversation. The supervisor told the Mayor that the town intended to sell "the bank building" which it had acquired, located in the village, "and I think the Village ought to have it."
