Appellants were charged by information with violation on November 9, 1955, of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, 16 U. S. §§ 701-718i, 16 U.S.C.A. §§ 701-718i, and of the regulations published thereunder in 1955 by the Secretary of the Interior. It was admitted that wild ducks, which are protected by the statute, were taken by appellants on the date charged. Section 703 provides that "Unless and except as permitted by regulations...
