A jury returned a verdict in favor of plaintiff, Helen Markwalder, in the sum of $11,366.02 for damages sustained by her when she was forced to jump from a second story window in defendant's lodging house to escape a fire. Plaintiff suffered injuries and a loss of personal property. A judgment based upon the jury's verdict was entered in favor of plaintiff, and defendants appeal.
