A very odd situation is reflected in this record.

Virgil Sanders Farm was engaged in growing tomatoes in the produce belt of Dade County. Usually tomatoes are harvested and shipped before becoming fully ripe but some of them for one reason or another reach the stage of ripeness that prevents their being acceptable in regular markets.
