Appellant was charged with murder, the information alleging that she did "wilfully, unlawfully, feloniously and with malice aforethought, kill and murder one Carol Steward, a human being." The victim was the appellant's daughter, and was 2 1/2 years of age at the time of her death. Pleas of not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity were entered, the latter plea being withdrawn before trial. A jury found appellant...
